Sichuan Tourism University and EPF Graduate School of Engineering in France Outline New Educational Cooperation Blueprint

On October 17, coinciding with the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and France, Mr. Emmanuel Duflos, President of the EPF Graduate School of Engineering in France(hereinafter referred to as EPF) and his delegation visited our university and participated in a Sino-French educational strategic cooperation meeting. The meeting was held in the universitys No.1 Standard Conference Hall, attended by Zhang Xuelong, Secretary of the Party Committee, and presided over by Ren Yingwei, Vice President.

Zhang Xuelong warmly welcomed Mr. Duflos and his team, emphasizing the longstanding friendship and the significant implications of the educational cooperation between China and France. He also noted the impressive achievements in the collaborative academic programs of two universities, which enhance quality education and cultivate internationally competitive talents. Mr. Duflos expressed gratitude for the warm reception and ongoing support in cooperative projects, reflecting on their historical partnership and looking forward to promising future collaborations. He highlighted the profound impact of international cooperation on the innovation and development of higher education and the cultivation of talent equipped for global challenges. Both parties expressed their commitment to exploring more diverse and deeper collaboration models.


 

 

They jointly signed a student exchange program agreement, marking a significant step forward in talent cultivation and cultural exchange, providing students with enhanced opportunities for international study and development, while further strengthening the friendship and cooperation between the two schools.


During the meeting, the Director of International Cooperation and Exchanges Office of SCTU provided a detailed summary of Chinese-foreign cooperatively-run educational projects and future outlooks. The head of EPFs International Office shared successful experiences and future plans for cooperation.

Prior to the meeting, President Duflos and his delegation toured the universitys history museum, culinary and food management center and climbing base, gaining insight into the universitys cultural heritage, educational characteristics and teaching environment.

The successful hosting of this Sino-French educational strategic cooperation meeting not only showcased our universitys active role and significant achievements in international cooperation and exchange but also injected new vitality and momentum into Sino-French educational collaboration. Relevant heads from the Teachers Affairs Department, Academic Affairs Office, Students Affairs Office, Enrollment and Employment Office, Finance Office, International Cooperation and Exchanges Office, School of Information and Engineering, and School of International Education participated in the meeting.
